SMS to Printer Ordering

SMS Ordering enables you to take orders, for food or any other notification, by SMS text message. In the USA this is already a major success, they call it "Beat the Queue". You can also take an SMS order from a website and have it printed on an SMS Printer. You do not need a phone line or an Internet connection to receive the text order or notification. You could be at an event or an outside location and still take printed SMS orders.  SMS Ordering is sold as part of a system or an application.

You could be running a Service Team and want to send a text message to everybody or an individual. No need for a phone line or an Internet connection, they just have an SMS printer. We can provide an SMS software solution for any application. We use SMS printers in myWeymouth.com for takeaway orders in Weymouth and Portland. We are ready for the Weymouth Olympics 2012. We will deliver to your tent or caravan.

NBC News Channel 4HD - televised, New York, 2 October 2006

Following an article about my company in The Wall Street Journal, I was contacted by NBC News Channel 4HD. They were producing a news item about ordering food by SMS text message from your mobile phone. Both goMobo.com, New York, and SoftwareforRestaurants.com, UK, were featured.

The interview with Hugh Johnson was recorded in London.

NBC News Report

A customer can logon and select the food they want from a restaurant or takeaway menu and save the list as a memorable word, such as "john2". This could be a meal for two people. To order just send a text message: john2 to: 60999
We recognise the mobile phone number and know that the keyword "john2" is a food request. We check the restaurant or takeaway is open and can process the order. We can also take a payment by debit or credit card. The order is sent and an order acknowledgement is texted back to the customer. It's easy!

What is the Cost?

Once the service has been set up, service overview, there are no additional costs. Your customers pay the standard text message fee for each order confirmation SMS text. The SMS text confirmation can include a unique number for reference.

SMS Ordering Printer

UK Software Development have partnered with a specialist printer manufacture to provide a portable printer that can be programmed to send SMS to printer text messages or instructions from a server and provide a print-out.

It provides two-way communication, for example an order can sent to the SMS Ordering Printer from an online restaurant or takeaway website. We process the order on a server and send a GPRS message which includes all the food ordering information. You can ACCEPT the order and print the order for the kitchen. We have programmed a response that asks "how long will the food take to cook?" You enter the number of minutes i.e. 25, 30, 35 or 45 and press OK. A message is then sent back to the customer to confirm when the food will be cooked.

We have developed software that can interact with the printer and confirm Acceptance of the order and send back information confirming; how long to delivery etc.

The SMS to Printer can support any industry that requires printed information on the move; it can even be used as an inexpensive fax machine. Do you have an application?

We can add any GPRS or SMS functionality you require, please contact us for more information..

We can provide you with a customised solution that works for you.

How it Works:
You do not need a telephone line or an Internet connection. The SMS Ordering to Printer can be battery powered and free-standing. We can integrate the printer into an online ordering system, we will soon be releasing an online Restaurant Directory similar to I WANT A TAKEAWAY. We developed a restaurant directory which included ordering by SMS text message to a printer in 2004. We worked with SAMSUNG UK. We were featured in The Wall Street Journal and on NBC News in New York.
